Ghana data bundles, compared

• GH¢3 buys 406.89 MB, while GH¢2.99 buys 148.49 MB and GH¢3.01 buys 313.66 MB.
• GH¢10 buys 837.55 MB, while GH¢9.99 buys 710.53 MB and GH¢10.01 buys 711.95 MB.
• GH¢399 buys 217.34 GB, while GH¢398.99 buys 123.36 GB; MTN publishes no rate above GH¢399.

• AT Data Kredit (*554#): a 20% fee on what you borrow; for example, 25 MB for GH¢0.50 means repaying GH¢0.60, and 550 MB for GH¢5 means repaying GH¢6.
• MTN Xtrabyte (*506#, option 4 'Request a data advance'): a 10% fee on what you borrow; for example, 41 MB for GH¢1 means repaying GH¢1.10, and 2,133 MB for GH¢30 means repaying GH¢33.

Borrowed data is not a bundle you buy, so it is never compared with bundles or used in any ranking, finder or planner here. Use it only when you cannot top up, and remember the repayment.

At the same price, a bundle that expires can give more data than one that never does:

• AT, GH¢20: Sika Kokoo GH¢20 gives 2.5 GB (5 days); BigTime Data GH¢20 gives 1.7 GB that never expires.
• AT, GH¢5: Sika Kokoo GH¢5 gives 780 MB (3 days); BigTime Data GH¢5 gives 557 MB that never expires.
• Telecel, GH¢20: 2.56GB Weekly gives 2.56GB (5 days); 2Moorch 1.67GB gives 1.67GB that never expires.
• Telecel, GH¢5: 780MB 3-Day gives 780MB (3 days); 2Moorch 557MB gives 557MB that never expires.

If you will use it all before it expires, the expiring bundle is the better buy. If you use data slowly, no-expiry protects what you paid for.

• AT: 12 AM–4 AM. Best night value: 15.00 GB per GH¢10, vs 6.33 GB per GH¢10 for the best all-day value.
• MTN: 12 AM–5 AM daily (expiry not clear – check with MTN). Best night value: 28.27 GB per GH¢10, vs 5.45 GB per GH¢10 for the best all-day value.
• Telecel: 12 AM–5 AM, no expiry. Best night value: 33.43 GB per GH¢10, vs 6.58 GB per GH¢10 for the best all-day value.
• Night data only works inside the hours shown.

• Sika Kokoo: Up to 15 days. Buy another Sika Kokoo bundle within 24 hours of expiry and your leftover data rolls over. Dial *111*4#, option 1.
• Family Pack (XXL): 30 days, shared with up to 3 family members. Buy another within 7 days of expiry and leftover data rolls over. Dial *111#, option 4; AT's Data Bundles page also gives *111*4#.
• Telecel Rollover: All expiry bundles roll over when same bundle is purchased before expiry while different bundles co-exist and usage priority given to bundle with earliest expiry.
• Telecel Auto-renew: Customer can choose to auto-renew either no-expiry or expiry data bundles.
• Telecel Expiry bundles: Expiry bundles auto-renew at the end date of bundle expiry once customer has sufficient airtime balance. However, there is extended period after bundle expiry which allows customer to top up for bundle to auto-renew. Daily, Weekly and Monthly bundles have 1 day, 3 days and 7 days extended period respectively.
• Telecel no-expiry bundles: Telecel's terms: “No-expiry bundle auto-renews once 90% of the allocated data is used.”
• Telecel Flexi (any amount): Does not auto-renew (Telecel's Flexi terms).
• MTN: stopping auto-renewal: MTN's help centre, “How do I stop the data bundle auto renewal?” (last edited 6 Jul 2026): “It’s simple. Just send STOP to the short code 138 via SMS. And the good news is, there are no charges for this service!”

Personalised: they depend on your account

• Data Zone GH¢2.99 (327.25 MB, 1 day): Personalised offer. Only if you already have an active bundle of GH¢1–5 and have finished any earlier Data Zone bundle. MTN may discount it to as little as GH¢1.94 (up to 35% off).
• Data Zone GH¢3.99 (495.40 MB, 1 day): Personalised offer. Only if you already have an active bundle of GH¢5.10–7 and have finished any earlier Data Zone bundle. MTN may discount it to as little as GH¢2.99 (up to 25% off).
• Data Zone GH¢5.99 (806.45 MB, 1 day): Personalised offer. Only if you already have an active bundle of GH¢5.10–50 and have finished any earlier Data Zone bundle. MTN may discount it to as little as GH¢3.89 (up to 35% off).

Regional: only in the regions the network lists

• Jara GH¢1.39 (50MB, “expires at 11:59pm the following day”; minutes and SMS “remain valid for 48 hours” (MTN's Jara terms, PDF dated 22 Mar 2024)): MTN's Jara terms (PDF dated 22 Mar 2024) say 'Offer is open to only prepaid customers in Volta, Oti, Upper East, Upper West, Bono, Bono East, Ahafo, Northern, North East and Savannah regions', and MTN's Jara page names the same regions. MTN's Jara page says 'Subscribe to the Jara offer any day and enjoy it from Monday to Saturday', and its terms say 'Daily auto subscription applies' until you unsubscribe (send STOP to 550).

Eligible groups only: you must be registered with the group

• MTN AFA bundle (1 pack, from GH¢6): MTN's bundle for farmers, run with Prepeez Limited: GH¢6 for 30 days, with or without 150 MB of data, plus minutes and SMS. Only farmers registered with Prepeez Limited can buy it. MTN's help centre on how long it lasts: 'It has a duration period of 30 days' (last edited 3 Feb 2023). Dial *1848#.
• MTN Association bundle (6 packs, from GH¢10): Voice, SMS and data packs for members of professional and gazetted associations that MTN has registered. MTN's help centre (last edited 24 Nov 2023) calls it 'an exclusive service offer designed for members of professional and gazetted associations in Ghana' that lets them 'purchase combo bundles (including Voice, SMS, and Data) at discounted prices', with calls inside the group (Closed User Group, CUG) while a bundle is active. To register, an association's administrator needs 'a member list, administrator ID, association documents (certificates), and a request letter'. MTN: 'Association bundle expires after 30 days'. To buy: 'Dial *5060#', then 'Select Option 2 for Association Bundles'.

Because not everyone can buy them, they are kept out of every ranking, finder and planner here.

Calls, SMS and data together. On-net minutes are for Telecel numbers only; all-net minutes work on any Ghana network.

Example: Red 1 (24 hours) (GH¢1) has 90 on-net minutes but 10 all-net minutes.

• Unlimited Daily Data: Unlimited data for 24 hours; the GH¢30 option adds unlimited calls to all networks. Dial *111*3*1#. Airtime only, and it cannot be gifted or shared. AT publishes no fair-usage limit, so it cannot be priced per GB and is not ranked.
• Morning Rush: Early-morning data for 4 AM to 7 AM, valid for 24 hours from activation (AT's FAQ). Dial *111*4# and select Morning Rush. AT's newest page for it was last updated on 6 Jul 2023, so it may no longer be on sale.
• Sunday Bundle: Unlimited AT-to-AT calls plus free Facebook and WhatsApp, 6 AM to 6 PM on Sundays only. Dial *111*4*6#. AT states no data amount, so it is not ranked.
• Kokrokoo: Morning-only data, usable 5 AM to 8 AM daily (MTN's help centre, last edited 6 Jul 2026). MTN's help centre says it does not expire (last edited 6 Jul 2026), but MTN's Kokrokoo terms say 'Any unused data is lost after 8am', so it is not counted as never-expiring here. Dial *138#, then 3.
• Social bundles: Data that works only on WhatsApp, Snapchat, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, WeChat and TikTok. These are the fixed amounts in the myMTN app's Social Bundles section. MTN does not state a validity. MTN's help centre (last edited 12 Aug 2024): 'Yes, you can purchase Social Bundle only via MyMTN App or *138#'. In the MyMTN app: 'Select Shop', 'Select Data', 'Select Social Bundle to purchase'. On USSD: 'Dial *138#', 'Proceed to buy bundle (No 4G bonus)', 'Select option 99 for More', 'Select option 4 for Social Bundle', 'Select option 1 to Buy for self', 'Follow service prompts to choose preferred bundle'. Menus can change. Any other amount: see the Social calculator (one flat rate per MB).
• Video bundles: Data that works only on IrokoTV, DSTV and YouTube. These are the fixed amounts in the myMTN app's Video Bundles section. MTN does not state a validity. Any other amount: see the Video calculator (one flat rate per MB).
• Sunday Special: Small packs of minutes, SMS and a little data that work on Sundays only (MTN Offers, help centre, last edited 11 Nov 2025: 'special voice or data deals available every Sunday only'). MTN's terms say 'Promo is open to only prepaid customers' and name no region. A weekly subscription that renews automatically until you stop it (MTN's terms: 'Weekly auto subscription applies'). Subscribe on *550#. MTN's Sunday Special page (last modified 8 Oct 2026) says 'just 65 Pesewas … inclusive Calls, Data, and SMS' and names no pack, so 65 Pesewas is not used as a price here. The introduction to MTN's Sunday Special terms (PDF dated 22 Mar 2024) says 'For only 76 Pesewas': that is the terms' Option 1 ('Cost of offer subscription is Ghc0.76': 20 minutes and 10 SMS, no data), which MTN's tariff page lists as 'Sunday Special – 20mins, 10SMS ( all net)' at 0.750. With no data it is not listed here.
• Jara: Small packs of minutes, SMS and a little data for Monday to Saturday, only for prepaid customers in the regions MTN's Jara terms list: Volta, Oti, Upper East, Upper West, Bono, Bono East, Ahafo, Northern, North East and Savannah. A daily subscription that renews automatically until you stop it (send STOP to 550). Subscribe on *550#.
• Social and Video, any amount: One flat rate per MB, but only for social media or video apps. MTN's tariff page allows any amount from GH¢0.03 to GH¢1,000 for both; in the myMTN app the Social flexi option goes up to GH¢399 and Video up to GH¢1,000. MTN does not state a validity.
• Hourly: A big burst of data that must be used within 1 hour.
• Bossu Weekend: Usable only: Saturday and Sunday. Part of Voice & Data Combo, so not ranked with all-day data.

BigTime and Sika Kokoo give the same data whether you pay from airtime or AT Money. With no bundle, AT charges 18.0p per MB (pay-as-you-go). AT Data Kredit (*554#) lends you data, from 25 MB for GH¢0.50 to 550 MB for GH¢5; AT adds a 20% service fee and takes the total from your next top-up. It is borrowed, not bought, so it is not compared here.

With no bundle, MTN charges GH¢0.1145 per MB, about GH¢117.25 per GB (1 GB = 1,024 MB). Always buy a bundle first. MTN Xtrabyte (*506#, option 4) lends you data that you pay for later with a 10% commission; it is borrowed, not bought, so it is not compared here.

Confirm on telecel.com.gh or in the Telecel app before buying. When your data runs out, browsing stops unless you allow pay-as-you-go at 11.5p per MB (switch it on or off on *700#).
